This Friday and Saturday, February 27th and 28th, our menu will be as listed on our Weekly Menu Page (just click on the tab). We are featuring house made items with a focus on chocolate… both sweet and savory, in celebration of the “Chocolate on the Beach Festival.” Our made to order chocolate fondue comes with an assortment of dipping foods including house made marshmallows! Please note that our kitchen closes at 8:00 pm (exceptions noted on menu). On Saturday we are pleased to welcome Jimmy Manolides, vocals and piano. Jimmy will be playing from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Our regular daily menu of cheese plates, crepes, and fondues will be available most days that we are open.

Our heated back patio (pet friendly) is open for you to enjoy at your leisure. You are welcome to sit at one of our tables and enjoy your food, wine, beer… just kick back and relax to the sound of the surf and enjoy dining Al fresco!

***Although you must be at least 21 years of age to enter the wine shoppe or enjoy the outdoor seating on our back wine patio…. we are happy to serve families or anyone under 21 on our front patio (we are not able to serve wine or beer out front) and do have a great selection of non-alcoholic beverages.  We do ask that you let us know you would like service as many folks enjoy just sitting a bit on our front patio!

On Most Saturdays you are invited to drop in and join us for Serendipitous Sipping: 5 for $5 at 5. What this means is that your Certified Sommelier will have carefully selected five wines for you to try and the cost will only be $5 per person. Each week the five wines will change… sometimes all red, sometimes all white, sometimes a mix of red and white. This is a great way for you to try new wines and of course when you discover one that you would like more of, we will be happy to pour a glass for you. So plan to join us on any Saturday (except noted exceptions) from 5:00 – 7:00 pm to take advantage of this opportunity.

Please join us on Friday, March 6th for a very special evening. Doug McCrea, winemaker from McCrea Cellars, will be with us.

McCrea Cellars is Washington State’s first winery entirely dedicated to Syrah and to Rhone varietal wines. In a region never before explored for this family of grapes, Doug dedicated nearly two decades seeking and establishing appropriate vineyard sites that would nurture Syrah and each Rhone varietal according to its individual requirements.

This evening will be different from our usual winemaker dinners in that it will be an informal walk around time with Doug presenting information and answering questions while pouring his wines. We will be serving small plates of tapas.

Please check back for time, cost, and reservation information.

Be sure to reserve Tuesday, March 31st. We will be returning Tiara Tuesday to the schedule starting on that day. More info to come…

Mid week is such an uneventful time! We thought we would spice it up a bit with “Wine Down Wednesdays” so come on in any time from 2:00 till 7:00 pm and you will receive a 10% discount on your wine by the glass or by the flight as well as a 10% discount on any of our bottles of wine to take away. If you purchase at least 6 bottles then we will give you a 15% discount! We will have a food menu as well… crepes, cheese plates, and fondue!

Welcome to Ocean Shores, Washington and more specifically… to our special place on the coast. We are so glad that you are visiting our website and hope to meet you soon in our wine shoppe. We are the owners of Sipping Serendipity Wine Shoppe and have chosen this name because we so love the concept.  Serendipity… the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.

My husband, Alan, and I moved to Ocean Shores in 2010. He is newly retired and we decided that relocating to the Pacific Northwest would bring us much happiness in our retirement years. And then… this serendipitous opportunity presented itself and we embraced it. On April 14 we will be opening our doors to our community and all its visitors. A dream come true for me!

Our son and his wife and our daughters and their signficant others have supported and encouraged us through this process and have played a major role in helping us with everything from the design of our logo to the develpment of our website and we thank them very much! Our new Ocean Shores friends as well as family and friends from other places have encouraged us as well.

When you visit our shoppe we encourage you to explore the many bottles of wine from the Pacific Northwest and all around the world. We will be happy to answer your questions and make suggestions about our wines. Do you need a little guidance with a food and wine pairing? We will be more than pleased to help you with that.  Would you like to enjoy a glass of wine or maybe a flight of red or white wines in our shoppe? We offer those options everyday at our wine bar.  We also have an assortment of IPA’s if that is your preference. And if you are looking for a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage we can offer you something from our retro-sodas collection.  We look forward to serving you!

Looking for a gift item? We can help you choose a bottle of wine or maybe you would prefer a gift certificate. We have a selection of other items as well including napkins, wine accessories, bags, glassware and of course the edible items including chocolates, gourmet crackers, and other snacks.

We hope to see you soon and often!  Cheers!

Deb Haggard, Certified Sommelier

Wine Quotes

“What is the definition of a good wine? It should start and end with a smile.” — William Sokolin

Grape Encounters…
Mourvedre, also known as Monastrell, has a Spanish origin but has for ages been a staple of grape cultivation in southern France. It has also made a home in Australia, California, and even our own Washington state. It's thought that this grape was grown by the Phonenicians, whose bustling city, Cartagena, was an early center for Mediterranean wine trade. Mourvedre is a sumptuously juicy grape, possessing small blue toned berries that thrive in the hot climate of Mediterranean summers. Mourvedre carries pungent fruit and rich berry falvors to the front of its deep garnet, medium bodied wines. Pairs well with hearty country food such as turkey dinners, pork roasts, and vegetables. A great winter wine for a winter meal of chicken and dumplings. We have a few wonderful choice of this wine made by Washington producers. Stop in and we will show you! Cheers! --- fr.
